THE MARLBOROUGH FARMERS MARKET ACCEPTS SNAP

Use your SNAP benefits to buy fresh, local foods at the market. Visit the Lost Shoe Market tent to learn more.

AT THE MARKET

• Bring your EBT card to the Lost Shoe Market tent (located near the sheds)
• Let the Lost Shoe Market tent staff know how many dollars you would like to withdraw from your SNAP account
• We will swipe your EBT card, you will enter your PIN and we will enter the amount requested
• Once the transaction is approved you will be given a receipt and SNAP Market tokens in the value of your SNAP withdrawal. $1 equals 1 market token.
• Use your market tokens like cash to shop for eligible food items (see list below)
• Eligible vendors will have a SNAP sign displayed in their booth
• Note that vendors are not allowed to give change for the tokens
• Marlborough Farmers Market SNAP tokens do not expire and may be used at future markets

  Eligible foods for the household to eat, such as:

• breads and cereals;
• fruits and vegetables;
• meats, fish and poultry; and
• dairy products.
• Seeds and plants which produce food for the household to eat
• Soft drinks, candy, cookies, snack crackers, bakery items, ice cream, jams and spreads, etc.

  Households CANNOT use SNAP benefits to buy:

• Beer, wine, liquor, cigarettes or tobacco
• Any nonfood items, such as:
• pet foods
• soaps, paper products
• household supplies
• Vitamins and medicines
• Food that will be eaten in the store
• Hot foods

WIC and Senior Coupons are accepted directly by some of our farm market vendors. Look for the posted sign at each vendor tent or ask vendors directly. 

WIC Eligible Items

• Fresh, locally grown and unprocessed fruits, vegetables and fresh, cut herbs

Senior Coupon Eligible Items

• Fresh, locally grown and unprocessed fruits, vegetables and fresh, cut herbs
• Locally produced honey
